SUMMER DAY'S PUNCH Recipes

Ingredients for Summer Punch Recipe

  • 3 tbsp ginger lemon syrup
  • 3 tbsp sugar syrup
  • 7-8 mint leaves
  • 1 cup orange juice(Tang can also be used)
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 5-7 ice cubes

Preparation Method : How to make Summer Punches Recipe

  • Mix all the ingredients together in a blender along with the ice cubes.
  • Pour the mix into a glass with some crushed ice and pineapple pieces.
  • Garnish with mint leaves.
  • Ready to serve with some ice.

Shrikhand is an Indian sweet dish made of strained yogurt. It is one of the main desserts in Maharashtrian and Gujarati cuisine. Preparation of this dish is very simple but it takes some time to process yogurt properly.

Andhra festival is known by different names in different states of India like “Gudi Padwa” in Maharastra and “Ugadi” in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Whatever the name this festival takes in different regions, it heralds the dawn of Vasanth Rutu (Spring Season), which is considered the first season of the year (Chaitra Maasam). Ugadi to the Telugu speaking people marks a beginning of a new year in which nature is in full bloom, symbolizing regeneration and celebrating the season’s freshness.The eating of a specific mixture of six tastes called Ugadi Pachadi in Telugu symbolizes the fact that life is a mixture of different experiences (sadness, happiness, anger, fear, disgust, surprise), which should be accepted together and with equanimity through the New Year.

The Ugadi Pachadi special mixture consists of:

  • Neem Buds/Flowers for its bitterness, signifying Sadness
  • Jaggery and ripe banana pieces for sweetness, signifying Happiness
  • Green Chilli/Pepper for its hot taste, signifying Anger
  • Salt for saltiness, signifying Fear
  • Tamarind Juice for its sourness, signifying Disgust
  • Unripened Mango for its tang, signifying Surprise

Ugadi Pachadi Ingredients

  • 1 Raw Mango(cut into small pieces)
  • 1 Ball of Tamarind
  • 2 Pieces of Jaggery
  • ½ cup of shredded coconut
  • 2 spoons of neem flowers
  • Green chillies finely chopped
  • ½ tsp of salt water (amount depends on the desired consistency)

How to make Tasty Ugadi Pachadi Preparation 

  • Soak the Tamarind in water for around 20 minutes.
  • Strain and add jaggery in the tamarind pulp.
  • When the jaggery has dissolved completely add salt, chillies, mango pieces, grated coconut and neem flowers.
